Discarded
This body of work explores the natural beauty of objects often overlooked; a discarded seedpod fallen from a tree, old browning seedpods hidden amid brightly coloured lotus flowers and lilly-pads, fallen blossoms bruised and fading, and empty shells washed up on the beach.
This work also documents Dawn's move towards a more mixed media approach in combining contemporary textile techniques and oil painted sections... techniques that continue to influence her treatment of her subject matter today.
